Greetings from St. George Orthodox Church, Jhansi.
Hope this finds you in good health.
This year, by the immense Grace of Our Lord, our small parish completes 50 years of existence as a worshipping community. Though the dream of a Church Building of our own was fulfilled gradually in 1995, our parishioners remember with utmost humility that there is a lot to be grateful for, right from the time they came here in the 1950s from Kerala with the desire for Orthodox worship still burning in their hearts.
By the grace of God, the inspirational leadership of our present & former Metropolitans and the selfless service of our Vicars, Jhansi parish has been a pillar of strength for its members, and continues to be so for the 18 families now living here (families keep returning to Kerala every after retirement).
As a testimony of gratitude to the Almighty, our parish decided to set apart 2017-18 as the Golden Jubilee Year, and are initiating a Jubilee Charity providing Financial Assistance for House Construction, Marriage & Education to deserving people in need. A portion of the fund generated would also be utilised for the urgent construction of a back wall for the church, the lack of which now poses serious security issues.
To make this effort more fruitful in its outcome we, God Willing, plan to release a Jubilee Souvenir containing messages, articles and other features of interest to be circulated in India & abroad.
The Souvenir is scheduled to be released by our Diocesan Metropolitan H. G. Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios at Jhansi on 13th May 2018.
Dear Achen, we request you to kindly extend a helping hand to this cause by contributing an advertisement for our Souvenir from your esteemed parish or related institution. The brochure of the same is attached herewith.
